On July 26, 2018, the Port of New York and New Jersey reported a new record for the first half of 2018 with cargo volumes up 6.8 percent over the same time period in 2017, when the previous six-month record was established. To date, the Port handled 3,450,469 TEUs (20-foot equivalent length cargo containers) compared to 3,229,675 TEUs between January and June in 2017.
