Global Marine Terminals (GCT) hosted the arrival of its first 14,000 TEU class ship to be operated in the east coast service (EC4) by “The Alliance” consortium of carriers. “The Alliance” is comprised of member carriers Hapag Lloyd (Germany), Yang Ming Lines (Taiwan), and the three Japanese carriers: NYK, K-Line, and MOL. On Monday, July 17, Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) of Hong Kong and Salt Lake City, Utah sailed the largest container ship to date into the Port of New York and New Jersey. The OOCL Berlin sailed into Newark Bay to dock at Maher Terminals Berth 68.
