The Port of New York New Jersey hit another monthly record in April 2018. Total volume for the month of April was 551,117 TEUs. Although import loads were down by 2.1% in April 2018 vs. April 2017, most likely due to a late Chinese New Year, export loads increased 12.9% in April 2018 vs. April 2017. This is the third month in a row that export loads have increased by double digits when compared against 2017. Continuing the streak of strong growth, the Port of New York and New Jersey had its best March in its history. Total volume for March 2018 was 572,576 TEUs. The Port experienced a 12.7 percent growth from March 2017 volume of 508,270 TEUs. The Port saw significant growth in both imported and exported TEU loads.
