The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey shares the following message on behalf of APM Terminals:
“APM Terminals appreciates your patience and support as they continue to work diligently to recover from last week’s cyber-attack which severely impacted their operational capabilities, and many of their customers and port partners. While it has been challenging and at times slow, APM Terminals consciously chose to operate manually and at least provide some moderate level of service as opposed to waiting until the technology based services and capabilities could be fully restored.
Despite the manual processes being utilized, capacity for overall gate moves has reached 75% of typical performance levels.
At this time, the gate system is up and running, Trailer Interchange Receipts (TIRs) can be printed and freight and Customs releases are being received. Full gate capacity is expected to be restored sometime next week.
Gates will remain open until 7:00 PM Monday thru Friday to assist in increasing import delivery for those truckers and customers impacted.
The gate was open last Saturday and will be open tomorrow (Saturday, July 8th) as well.
Weekend hours will continue to be considered if the capacity is utilized by the community. Your use of all available hours is greatly appreciated and will help everyone in the Port.
The status and availability of import containers can be found on the Terminal Information Portal System (TIPS) at www.porttruckpass.com .
The process of handing demurrage at this time has been expedited in order to facilitate import delivery.
In the event that TIPS indicates that demurrage is due, please send your driver to the trouble window for a speedy resolution.
APM Terminals staff is committed to continue working diligently to assist port partners in providing, to the best of their ability, with whatever information is available to keep commerce moving. ”
