On November 30th, the Neopanamax container ship Theseus arrived at the Port’s largest facility, Maher Terminals. Port department staff were on hand to welcome Captain Tsipouras Dimitrios and his crew, presenting the captain with a plaque to celebrate the ship’s inaugural visit. On Friday, July 19, Cape Akritas arrived on its maiden voyage at Maher Terminals at the Elizabeth Port Authority Marine Terminal (EPAMT). The ship’s arrival also marked the first visit for Captain Strongylis Evangelos, a 19-year veteran, along with his 24-person multinational crew. Seaboard Marine enhanced their North Atlantic services to include a weekly service at the Port of New York and New Jersey, connecting Red Hook Container Terminal, Brooklyn to key ports in Central America. The “North Atlantic – North Central America” service commenced on April 29, 2019, from Santo Tomas, Guatemala.
