For the month of April, the Port of New York and New Jersey’s rail business continues to demonstrate growth as the total rail volume, January through April, is 6.0 percent greater than in the same period in 2019. Rail volume increased 1.5 percent from the previous year’s March figure, totaling 59,771 containers for March 2020. The Port of New York and New Jersey moved 55,595 containers by rail in February 2020, a 12.2 percent increase over the previous year. This number marks a February best for rail cargo at the Port. February was also a good month for total volume at the Port of New York and New Jersey.
