The streak of record-breaking volume continued in June at the Port of New York and New Jersey, with June’s total volume numbers nearly doubling the numbers posted in June 2020. Total volume rose by 46.6 percent in June with 749,400 TEUs (415,813 lifts) compared to 511,306 TEUs (290,454 lifts) the previous year. May 2021 saw another double-digit, record-breaking month at the Port of New York and New Jersey. Total volume, imports, autos, and rail posted double-digit volume increases compared to the previous year, and rail broke its all-time monthly record for May. The Port of New York and New Jersey had another strong month in April, posting double-digit increases for total container volume, container imports, and autos and setting a new April record for rail volume. Total volume in April was 712,799 TEUs (396,168 lifts) versus 559,929 TEUs (318,389 lifts) in April 2020, a 27.3 percent increase and record for the month of April..
