Port of NY & NJ Welcomes Zim Antwerp

The Zim Antwerp, one of the largest vessels deployed by Zim American Integrated Shipping Services (Zim) reached its berth at Maher Terminals on June 26, 2017. The Antwerp has a maximum capacity of 10,062 TEUs. Her arrival represents the first Neo Panamax Zim vessel to call Maher Terminals in Newark Bay after a navigational clearance of 215 feet above the waterline was announced for the Bayonne Bridge earlier this month. Governors Cuomo and Christie Announce Opening of Goethals Bridge Eastbound Span

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Governor Chris Christie today announced that the eastbound lane of the new Goethals Bridge will open to New Jersey-bound traffic late Sunday afternoon, June 11, 2017. Governor Christie Announces Navigational Clearance Achieved at Bayonne Bridge

Governor Chris Christie announced today the early completion of a new navigational clearance level at the Bayonne Bridge. The new clearance of 215 feet will allow environmentally friendly cargo vessels of up to 18,000 TEUs to access marine terminals in Elizabeth, Newark, and Staten Island. Clean Vessel Incentive Program Tops Enrollees for Q1 2017

The latest Clean Vessel Incentive (CVI) program offered by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is off to a flying start. Twenty-one companies enrolled in the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s latest CVI during Q1 2017 for an increase of 24 percent over companies who enrolled in Q1 2016. In addition, 272 qualifying vessels registered with the CVI program during Q1 2017 representing an increase of 7 percent over Q1 2016.
