Goethals Bridge Traffic Advisory: Southbound NJ Turnpike Interchange 13 Closure

The NJ Turnpike Authority will close the exit from the southbound NJ Turnpike Interchange 13 to the Goethals Bridge on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights (July 18 – 20) from 9 PM  to 5 AM the next morning. The closures will allow for teams to demolish the original Goethals Bridge. Alternate routes include using the Bayonne Bridge, which will be open each night, and southbound Interchange 12.  Please note that these closures do NOT include northbound Interchange 13. Governors Cuomo and Christie Announce Opening of Goethals Bridge Eastbound Span

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and Governor Chris Christie today announced that the eastbound lane of the new Goethals Bridge will open to New Jersey-bound traffic late Sunday afternoon, June 11, 2017. This event will follow closure of the original 89-year-old Goethals Bridge on Friday evening, June 9, 2017. The old Goethals Bridge was completed in 1928. Port Authority Posts for Public Comment Proposed $32.2 Billion Draft 10-Year Capital Plan

   The Port Authority posted for public comment the agency’s largest ever $32.2 billion draft 2017-2026 Capital Plan. This posting on the agency’s website launches a month-long public review and comment period on the proposed 10-year plan. To view the document, click here. The plan includes $29.5 billion in direct spending on Port Authority projects and a commitment to support debt service on $2.7 billion for the Gateway passenger rail tunnel project and related infrastructure – the largest funding commitment by any stakeholder involved in the project to date. Traffic Advisory: N.J. Turnpike Exit 13 Closing Temporarily to Southbound Traffic

To accommodate Port Authority construction on the Goethals Bridge Replacement Project, Exit 13 of the New Jersey Turnpike will be closed to southbound traffic during the following hours tonight (Thursday 11/3), Friday night (11/4), and Saturday night (11/5): From 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 3 through 5 a.m. Friday, November 4 From 7:30 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday, November 5 From 9:30 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday, November 6 During these times, signs will direct southbound drivers on the New Jersey Turnpike to detours at Exit 13A and Exit 12.
