The Port of New York and New Jersey hit record volumes in both rail cargo and overall container throughput for November. Total volume for November 2019 reached 599,626 TEUs (338,857 lifts), a 2.7 percent increase over the 583,880 TEUs (331,242 lifts) posted the previous year. On November 30th, the Neopanamax container ship Theseus arrived at the Port’s largest facility, Maher Terminals. Port department staff were on hand to welcome Captain Tsipouras Dimitrios and his crew, presenting the captain with a plaque to celebrate the ship’s inaugural visit.
