Global Container Terminals Scores Even Higher for Sustainability

In 2014, Global Container Terminals (GCT), a tenant of the Port of New York and New Jersey joined Green Marine, a voluntary environmental certification program for the North American marine industry. Through its set of 12 performance indicators, Green Marine sets higher benchmarks for air, land, and water emissions than those set by government regulations so that the entire maritime industry can work toward a more sustainable future. Metropolitan Rail Freight Council Releases Action Plan to Increase Rail Freight Capacity in NYC Metro Area

The Metropolitan Rail Freight Council (MRFC), a coalition of public and private organizations dedicated to promoting greater rail freight use in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan region, has released its first Action Plan. Port Authority Now ‘Unbuilding’ the Old Bayonne Bridge

FAPS Receives Auto Industry Award

At a ceremony held in New Orleans last month, FAPS received the honor of “Vehicle Processing Centre” of the year from the Automotive Global Awards North America Conference. Founded as Foreign Automotive Preparation Service, FAPS, Inc. is a third generation, family held company. This pre-delivery company has provided automotive import/export preparation services for 60 years as a tenant of the Port Newark Marine Terminal. They currently employ over 200 skilled workers at its more than 120-acre terminal complex.
