August 2017 became the best month for cargo volumes in the long and busy history of the Port of New York and New Jersey. The monthly total of 361,565 lifts (631,404 TEUs) crushed the previous monthly high of 339, 601 lifts (588,918 TEUs) logged in July 2015. Today the Port of New York and New Jersey marked the arrival of the CMA CGM Theodore Roosevelt, which passed under the newly raised Bayonne Bridge at approximately 9:30 a.m. to make berth at APM Terminals in Elizabeth, New Jersey. On Friday, July 21st, CMA-CGM of Marseille, France added the CMA-CGM Pelleas to the Ocean Alliance’s Loop 3 service calling at APM Terminals at the Elizabeth-Port Authority Marine Terminal in the Port of New York and New Jersey. The 9,900 teu ship is the largest vessel currently operated by CMA-CGM into the port.
