The Port Authority launched its 2015 Regional Truck Replacement Program (2015 RTRP) on October 19. The $2 million program continues the agency’s initiative to provide truck owners with financial incentives to replace their older vehicles with cleaner and safer units. This, in turn, will produce significant environmental benefits at the port. Trade statistics shared by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s Port Commerce Department show two records broken in August 2015.   Overall container lifts for that month hit 329,057, up 7.9 percent from August 2014. The August 2015 numbers represent a new monthly record for container lifts at the Port of New York and New Jersey. Rail lifts also had their best August ever.
