A Legacy of Positive Transformation and Growth

Rick Larrabee

Rick Larrabee came to The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey following a storied career in the U.S. Coast Guard. His experience as a Rear Admiral surely informed his style of leadership. Over the past 15 years, with consummate vision and integrity, Rick successfully steered the Port of New York and New Jersey into the 21st century. His proactive approach to environmental stewardship, asset management, infrastructure modernization, and collaboration with industry partners have set a new standard for public service.

Among Rick’s recent accomplishments, the Port Authority’s Port Commerce Department helped establish the Council on Port Performance. This forward-thinking body brings together the port’s various and diverse stakeholders who find local solutions to industry wide issues of productivity and congestion.

Rick also led the development and implementation of the Port Authority’s Clean Air Strategy and Harbor Deepening Project, two initiatives considered vital to the port’s sustainability and growth.

To ensure a smooth transition, Rick will offer his wisdom and expertise to Ms. Molly Campbell, his replacement as Director of Port Commerce. He will officially retire in August 2015.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey wishes Rick well in all future endeavors, and thanks him for his commitment to the agency and the people it serves.
